Strengths: Loads of experience, defense.
Weaknesses: Lack of scoring punch.
Outlook: The Hawks were young two years ago with a very young team
that took its lumps and missed the postseason, last year they got back into the
postseason and hope to press forward this year behind a large senior group that
brings as much experience as any squad under Bowers.
The defense figures to be the strong suit with
senior captain Paul Dupre
serving as the stopper. Conor Fitzgerald of Dedham and Ben Weidenaar of Norwood
are also returning to the backline. Dupre led the Hawks in scoring a year ago
and is a skilled set piece taker.
Captain Nolan Comiskey and James Vickery figure to be the duo that
orchestrate the offense from the midfield. The attack does has struggled to
finish in the past, but the hope is that the combination of Robby Stack and Greg
Stokinger will form a potent scoring punch.
Coach Bowers: ”It’s certainly nice to have the time to work, but
boy, the guys are ready for a game. They came in in terrific shape and a great
attitude so it’s been a very productive
preseason.” |
