Xaverian 5, Franklinl 1

Paul Dupre scored twice as the Hawks stayed unbeaten on the year with a non-league win over the Panthers, improving to 4-0-2.

Dupre got Xaverian the lead five minutes in and Robbie Stack made it 2-0 off a feed from Greg Stokinger, making his return from a bout with mononucleosis. Franklin looked like them might take the momentum into the break with a goal in the 35th minute, but A.J. Schamber responded just a minute later, heading in a Marcus Payne cross for a 3-1 halftime edge.

“That’s the third time this season that we have had a similar situation giving up a goal where a team of less experience would have gotten a little flustered,” said Xaverian coach Gary Bowers. “All three times they have answered with very good poise and actions on the field.”

After an extended halftime because of the weather, Dupre notched his second with a ripping free kick. J.P Lalumia headed in a Stack cross for the final score
